The story: For years, our Syrian Spice was produced in bulk quantities to flavor the dishes at Steve's Backroom, our family's much-loved Lebanese restaurant in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. This home-chef blend is the result of a collaboration between Chef Stephen A. Kalil, former chef de cuisine for Culinary Research and Development at The Cheesecake Factory and corporate chef for PepsiCo and Frito Lay, and his sister, Lisa Kalil Massad. We've poured our heritage, family history, and culinary backgrounds into the making of this Syrian Spice, and shared countless memories and stories with one another in the process.
